Union Packaging is an expert paper converter, with expertise in high-volume, long run, hard-to-do jobs. Our specialty is a paperboard packaging for use with food products. Union Packaging uses in-line printing and die cutting to produce printed paperboard blanks. The printed blanks are then transformed into fast food cartons by “folding” and “gluing” on an array of finishing machines. Union Packaging ships directly to their customer’s distribution centers around the country.

Union Packaging has the following certifications and capabilities:
- GMP-audited – audited for Good Manufacturing Practices in paperboard packaging
- FDA-approved materials for food contact – approved by the Food and Drug Administration for paperboard packaging.

- HAACP food safety program
– Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point for food control in paperboard packaging
- Product Tracking certification – certified by third-party auditor NSF Cook & Thurber. The benefit is that specific items can be tracked, in a recall situation, avoiding widespread product loss for paperboard packaging products.
Materials
Union Packaging uses the following paperboard packaging materials:
- Substrates: SBS, CUK, and TMP
- Polycoating (optional) – prevents wicking for use with greasy foods
- Water-based inks – environmentally friendly
