Materials
Union Packaging uses the following paperboard packaging materials in our folding cartons:

• Substrates: SBS, CUK, and TMP
• Polycoating (optional) – prevents wicking for use with greasy foods
• Water-based inks – FDA-approved for folding cartons that are printed on the inside too.

Quality
Our clamshells are subjected to the highest testing standards. We perform these quality checks on our clamshells:

• Weight Test / Pressure Test – tests the locking mechanism of the clamshell for strength and durability
• Ink Rub Test – for ink smears, testing for dryness and dry time to reduce rub-off to adjoining clamshell
